What makes Argonics grain sheets’ chemistry unique?
For almost 30 years, our grain-specific polyurethane sheets have been engineered to provide exceptional wear resistance for all grain types.
Ether vs. ester
Our philosophy of matching optimal performance to specific wear applications resulted in our decision to offer better-suited, ether-based urethane chemistry in both our premium Kryptane® Xtreme™ grain liners as well as our economy line of Blue Ox™ liners. This is unique to the industry. Our competition’s economy lines are ester based. Ester based urethanes offer good abrasion resistance, but they are susceptible to degradation by hydrolysis.
Hydrolysis occurs when ester based urethanes are exposed to long period of hot, humid weather. Hot, humid summer weather is a certainty in most major grain producing regions of North America. Read our guide on storing our products to find out more information.
